Just noticed a huge difference in plank alignment after switching my moisture meter approach

I had a job in a basement last week where the boards kept cupping after two days, and I was about to rip it all out. Then I realized my old pin meter was giving me readings way off from the subfloor's actual moisture, so I grabbed a pinless meter from a buddy. Anybody else run into wild inconsistencies between meter types during acclimation?

Got a pinless meter from a buddy and saw the readings jump 2% higher on the same boards, which changed my acclimation plan completely. Did you test both meters on the same section of wood right before and after a surface pass with a moisture barrier to see if the pinless picks up deeper pockets better?

I mean, that "changed my acclimation plan completely" part feels like overkill to me. Unless you're working with something real finicky like engineered flooring, 2% difference isn't gonna make or break your install in most cases. Maybe it's just me, but I think people overthink this stuff way too much.
