Just counted my floor nailer hits for a big job and the number shocked me
Finished a 2,000 square foot oak install in a new build last week. I was cleaning up and decided to tally the nailer hits from my air compressor log. It came out to over 85,000 hits for the whole job. That's more than 40 hits per square foot, and my arm feels every single one. It really made me think about the wear and tear on our bodies over years of this. What's the highest count you guys have ever seen on a big install?

That's a lot of nails for sure... but I've seen it go the other way too. On a recent glue assist job we did, the count was way lower, maybe 20 hits per foot. The prep and adhesive did most of the work.

But what if the glue fails down the line, isn't a few extra nails cheap insurance?

Yeah, it's like that with a lot of things now, less brute force and more smart prep.
