Appreciation post: The $8 rice cooker that changed my weeknight dinners

I always thought rice cookers were a waste of counter space until my roommate left her $8 Aroma model behind after moving out last month. I tried it on a whim with some jasmine rice and it came out perfect every time without me stirring or watching the pot. Has anyone else been surprised by a cheap appliance that actually works better than the manual way?

linda my roommate bought the same one after she stayed over and smelled mine working. she uses it for her yoga corner now. funny how these little things end up everywhere.

you mean the tiny one that fits in a mug... does she notice any difference with the scent throw in a bigger room like that? i have a little one in my bathroom and it works fine but i always wonder if it would be worth getting a bigger one for the living room.
