My kombucha scoby grew to exactly 3.5 inches thick after six months

It looked like a weird, rubbery pancake and I had to cut it with kitchen shears. Anyone else have a starter get weirdly huge?

My sourdough starter does the same weird growth thing.

Read they can get huge in low temps.

Wow, that's a monster scoby but is it really a problem?
