Hit 100 active ferments in my kitchen and had to reassess my life choices
I was just counting jars for a grocery run and realized I have 104 things going right now. Kombucha, two types of kraut, some hot sauce, a miso experiment, and like 15 jars of various pickles. The problem is I live in a one bedroom apartment and my counter space is gone. My girlfriend said I have a problem when she found a jar of fermenting garlic in the bathroom cabinet. Has anyone else had to figure out a max capacity for their space? I don't want to stop but I also want to use my stove again.

Hold up, bathroom cabinet garlic? That is a whole new level of kitchen creep I haven't heard of before. I've got about 30 jars going in my studio and I thought that was bad, but 104 is its own zip code. You've got a full on ecosystem happening in there. I bet your girlfriend is scared to open the fridge without a hazmat suit at this point.

104 ferments is wild. The bathroom garlic is the real red flag though. Your girlfriend is probably right but I get not wanting to stop. Maybe invest in a wire rack for a closet or under the bed. That's where I shoved my overflow crocks when things got out of hand. Just don't put anything funky near your socks, trust me.
