Watched a cedar fence in my neighborhood go from perfect to sagging in just under two years

The crew that built it used cheap, green pressure-treated posts instead of letting them cure, and now the whole line is leaning after the wood warped, so what's your go-to method for setting posts in damp ground to avoid this?

That's such a frustrating waste of money and materials. Alice's gravel and cured post method is basically the gold standard for a reason. Skipping those steps just guarantees a repeat of the same leaning mess.

So they basically built a fence with wet noodles? My method is overkill but it works: dig deep, use gravel for drainage at the bottom, set the post in concrete so it's above grade to avoid pooling, and for the love of god, use posts that have already dried out. Anything else is just asking for a redo in a couple years.

Wet noodles" is the perfect way to put it. My first fence project looked like a funhouse mirror because I used green posts and just shoved them straight into mud. I had to redo the whole thing after one winter, so now I'm a total convert to the gravel and cured post method.
