Got a cedar fence panel to fit a tricky slope by scribing it with a 2x4
Had a job in Denver last month where the yard dropped almost 8 inches over a single panel run. I was about to cut a bunch of stepped panels, but my buddy said to try scribing. I held a level 2x4 against the posts, traced the ground slope onto the bottom rail of a full panel, and cut it with a jigsaw. It dropped right into place and looks way cleaner than stepping. Anyone else use scribing for slopes instead of racking or stepping panels?

How much extra time did that scribing method add to the install?

Saw my buddy waste a whole afternoon on that once.

Actually depends on the job though, Oscar. That extra time can save a ton of callbacks if the cuts are tricky. Your buddy might have dodged a bigger headache later.
