Took me three trips to realize the drive-thru missed my entire order

I sat in the parking lot eating fries for five minutes before I realized they forgot my burger and drink. Had to get back in line and wait another 12 minutes just to get what I paid for. Anyone else just sit there eating and not notice till the bag is half empty?

Oh man, I've been there way too many times. Now I always pop the bag open and check every item before I pull away from the window, even if there's a long line behind me. A quick peek saves you from eating an incomplete meal in the parking lot later.

Has nobody else learned to just calmly lean up and say "hey, give me one second I just need to check my order" while waving apologetically? Honestly, most people will chill out if you just acknowledge them instead of pretending they don't exist. A quick "sorry" and a smile goes a long way to avoid eating someone else's cold fries on the drive home.
