I looked up the actual size of a famous burger and the numbers are wild
I was reading a food industry report online and found out the Big Mac's advertised weight is 7.6 ounces. I weighed one from my local spot last week and it was barely 6 ounces. That's a huge difference they're getting away with. Has anyone else noticed their fast food orders looking smaller than the pictures lately?

But what if the advertised weight is for the whole assembled burger with all the condiments? My local spot's patty might shrink a bit when cooked, but the lettuce, sauce, and pickles add up. Could the missing weight just be from those wet ingredients drying out or getting left off by a rushed worker?

The advertised weight includes the wrapper and box. They weigh it all together at the factory. So the burger patty and bun alone will always be less. It's a known trick in the industry.

Oh great, so I'm basically paying for a fancy cardboard wrapper and a side of misleading math? That's like buying a car and finding out the advertised horsepower includes the key fob. Next thing you know, they'll start weighing the air in the bag of chips and calling it a "premium experience." Honestly, at this point I'm just impressed they got us all arguing about pickle juice and ketchup weight instead of the actual patty. What a perfect little scam.
