Vent: A guy offered me $50 cash for my truck's catalytic converter in a grocery store parking lot

This was in Dayton last fall. I was loading groceries when a dude in a hoodie walked up and just said, 'I'll give you fifty bucks cash, right now, for your cat.' He was dead serious, holding the cash. My truck is a 2002, so the converter is probably worth more in scrap, but the sheer boldness of it in broad daylight got me. I told him no, obviously, and he just shrugged and walked off to the next lot. It was so direct and weird it was almost funny. Has anyone else had someone just walk up and make a random cash offer for a part of your car?
