I used to think flipping used phones was a total scam

Then I bought a cracked iPhone 12 for $80, fixed the screen myself, and sold it for $350 in two days. The local Facebook group was full of people looking for a deal. What's something you thought was a ripoff that actually worked out?

Wait, you fixed the screen yourself? How did you even figure out how to do that without breaking something else? I'd be way too scared to open up a phone and start poking around. That profit is insane for just a couple hours of work.

Ever think that $80 phone was stolen, @abby943?

Haven't you ever wondered if that seller might be someone who just needed quick cash? I feel for the person who maybe lost their phone or had it stolen. It's hard to know the full story, but I'd feel kinda bad flipping it for profit without at least trying to see if it was reported missing. Your fix sounds impressive, don't get me wrong. But sometimes the best profit is just doing the right thing and returning it if you can trace it back. Not judging you, just thinking out loud.
