Vent: The whole 'quiet luxury' trend is just boring rich people clothes
I was at a design panel in New York last month and every speaker kept pushing minimalist, neutral-toned 'investment pieces' as the only valid direction. It felt like they were just selling the same plain coat for two thousand dollars. I left and started sketching loud, patchwork jackets with mismatched buttons instead. Has anyone else gotten tired of being told to design for a boardroom that doesn't exist?

Patchwork jackets sound way more fun.

What kind of patchwork are you picturing, like random fabric scraps or something more planned?

Oh that's a good question. I'm actually picturing something in the middle, like planned chaos. You pick a color theme so it all kinda goes together, but the scraps themselves are all different sizes and textures. That way it looks intentional but still has that cool, messy vibe. It's more interesting than just random pieces but not as stiff as a perfect pattern.
