Took me 4 days to figure out why my pleats were curling up on one side

I spent all last week trying to get the pleats on my A-line skirt to lay flat, but the left side kept curling no matter how much I pressed it. Turns out I was using the wrong grain line on the cut pieces, and it took me four days of re-cutting and steaming before a friend pointed it out. Has anyone else wasted that much time on something this simple in the sewing room?

lol honestly @murphy.blair I gotta disagree with you here. Spending four days on a grain line mistake sounds like a blessing in disguise. Now you'll never forget to check that again, and you probably learned a ton about how fabric behaves in the process. That's the kind of hard lesson that sticks with you way longer than if you'd just got it right the first time. Plus, think of all the tips and tricks you picked up along the way while you were troubleshooting.

Hard mode for no reason" - that's exactly what my friend Lisa calls it too. She spent a whole weekend trying to fix a zipper on a dress before realizing she'd sewn the zipper tape to the wrong side of the seam allowance. It was a classic "facepalm moment" for her, but she said now she triple-checks everything before even touching the machine.

Oh man, that's like sewing on hard mode for no reason.
