Showerthought: I used to think pockets on dresses were a gimmick, now I won't buy one without them.

I changed my mind after trying to hold my phone, keys, and wallet at a concert in Austin last year, it was a total mess. What's a design feature you used to ignore that you now see as essential?

My old winter coat had those useless decorative buttons, you know? I finally got one with actual snaps last year after my hands froze trying to button up in a Chicago wind. Zara_kelly27, that's like your zipper hunt, you just need the thing to actually work.

Same with zippered pockets on workout leggings. I lost a credit card once on a run and it was such a pain. Now I check for that little zip pocket on the waistband every single time.

My old gym shorts had a fake pocket. Total waste. Now I only buy ones with a real zipper, like the Lululemon Fast and Free. Card stays put.
