Shoutout to the mechanic at the Portland airport whose coveralls had the coolest hidden pocket layout

I was stuck waiting for a tow last Tuesday and noticed his workwear had a tool loop on the thigh and a zipper pocket on the forearm, which got me thinking about how we could adapt that for techwear or hiking gear, what's the most clever functional detail you've seen on someone's clothes?

My vest has a magnetic clip inside for a pen.

That forearm zipper pocket is such a good idea. My old hiking pants had a tiny hidden pocket behind the main thigh pocket for a key, it was perfect.

Yeah exactly, @simon717, those hidden spots are the best. It's all about putting the pocket right where you naturally need the thing. Like a small zipper on the shoulder strap of a backpack for a phone, so you don't have to take it off to check a map. More gear should have that kind of smart, simple design built in instead of just adding another obvious cargo pouch. Once you use something that well thought out, everything else feels clumsy.
