Just changed my mind about using old t-shirts for mockups

I always thought using scrap fabric was good enough for testing patterns, but my shapes kept coming out weird. Last week, I tried using cheap muslin from the craft store instead, like my teacher in Portland told me to. It only cost about $15 for a big roll and drapes way better than a stretched-out tee. The first dress I made with it fit perfectly on the first try. Anyone else find a cheap material that made a huge difference for their drafts?

Oh man, I was using old bedsheets like a FOOL. The stretch was a total disaster.

Seriously though, how bad could it be? It's just holding fabric in place. I've used a cut up t-shirt before and my lines were fine. Unless you're doing a giant quilt, a little stretch isn't the end of the world.
