I was making all my pants with the same inseam for every size

I had this moment last week when a friend tried on a pair of my custom trousers and they looked totally off. She's 5'2" and I had used the same inseam measurement I use for my taller friends, which is about 32 inches. The fabric was bunching up so much at her ankles. It hit me that I was just scaling the width for sizes but not adjusting the length proportions at all, which is kind of a basic mistake. I went back and looked at my patterns from the last six months and realized I'd done it for every single pair. Now I'm reworking my base blocks to have three different length grades. Has anyone else had to fix a simple proportion error like that in their patterns?

My first sewing project was a skirt where I forgot to add seam allowance to the waistband piece. I had to scramble and add this weird extra strip of fabric. It was such a basic thing to miss, I felt so dumb.

My first dress had a sleeve length disaster.
