Had a lucky week finding vintage patterns at estate sales
Two weeks ago I hit three estate sales in a row and found 12 vintage sewing patterns from the 1960s for under $10 total. The catch is half of them are missing the instruction sheets. Does anyone bother reconstructing the steps from photos or just wing it with similar modern techniques?

The 1960s Simplicity patterns are notorious for missing instructions. I just wing it with modern techniques 90% of the time. For things like darts and facings, those methods haven't changed much at all. The tricky part is zipper insertion and sleeve setting on old patterns since they used different seam allowances. I'd say check the pattern itself for notches and markings first, then figure out the order by looking at the envelope back for line drawings. If you get stuck on a specific step, search YouTube for the pattern number - someone's probably already made it.

Hell yeah @felix147, I've done the same thing with a 60s dress pattern and just guessed on the zipper part.
