A warning from my closet: The move away from natural fibers is a real problem
I was sorting through some clothes I kept from years ago. They were all cotton, wool, or linen, and they still feel great. Now, so much new fabric is polyester and feels cheap. It doesn't breathe and often pills after a few washes. We should push for designs that use better, classic materials.

Ugh, I saw a documentary about this. They showed how those plastic microfibers from washing end up in the ocean and then in fish. It's pretty gross. So even if the new polyester feels okay, it's still making that pollution. That's a huge hidden cost they don't tell you about at the store. Makes me want to just stick with cotton even more.

I read somewhere that washing polyester clothes sends tiny plastic bits into the water. That stuff doesn't really break down. Natural fabrics might need more care, but they just last in a different way. I get the point about some tech fabrics being useful for specific stuff, but for everyday clothes, the old materials are hard to beat.

It's a fair point, but some newer synthetics are pretty good now, way better than the old stuff. They can be super practical for workouts or travel, honestly.
