Finally switched from keg shoes to fullered ones on a muddy track in Oregon last Tuesday
The difference in traction was night and day (my horse went from slipping around to actually gripping the ground) and I couldn't believe I waited this long to try them out. Has anyone else had a similar moment with a shoe style change?

Personally I found keg shoes gave my gelding better grip in deep mud out here in Washington.

Wait, keg shoes? Like the actual keg shoes with the little studs in them? Bro that's wild, I didn't know people still used those for mud. I thought they were just for like showing or harsh footing on rock. Your gelding must have legs of iron to not slip all over the place in deep Washington mud with those things. Most horses I've seen in that stuff just sink right up to their knees with regular shoes.

Yeah switching to fullered shoes was a game changer for my mare in Washington mud, made a huge difference in her confidence on slippery ground.
