No way, I had the same thing happen with a cheap kit from the auto parts store! Totally saved my bumper.

Ever wonder why those kits never match the paint color right? I tried one on my old Civic and it ended up looking like a weird orange patch on a red car. Still kept it from rusting though.

Actually, I've had the opposite experience (shocking, I know). My buddy used a kit on his blue truck and the color match was spot on. You gotta remember factory paint fades over time, so a fresh touch-up will always look a little different. Those kits are meant to stop rust first, which they do great. A perfect color match is just a bonus, and sometimes you get lucky.
