Just realized that skipping all tourist spots might be a mistake

I used to think popular attractions were just cash grabs with nothing real to offer. Then I visited one and found it pretty fun and full of energy. Is the idea that all tourist places are bad just a snobby myth?

Turns out the Mona Lisa is actually tiny and the Eiffel Tower is just a big metal ladder. But you know what? They're still cool to see in person. Feels like we get tricked into thinking "authentic" travel means only eating gas station sandwiches in empty parking lots. Maybe the truly snobby move is pretending you're too good for a cheesy boat tour.

Gas station sandwiches in empty parking lots, that's the one. Like wow, you're really living the local dream eating stale bread next to a pump. The whole thing is just performance art for your travel blog. I'm with you on the cheesy boat tour though, I'd do it in a heartbeat. You pay all that money to get there, you might as well get the dumb photo from the water.
