I always avoided reading in poor light until I learned the truth

For a long time, I believed that reading in dim light would ruin my eyesight for good. My parents and teachers always warned me about it. Then I came across some info from eye care experts online. They said it only leads to short term strain, not permanent damage. I tried reading with a soft lamp for a month and my eye doctor said my vision was fine. Now I don't stress about it and just read where I'm comfortable. It's one less thing to worry about every day.

My buddy thought it was permanent. Nope.

Hold up, is it even real damage? People throw that word around for everything now. Like calling a scratch on your phone "damaged" or saying a dead pixel "ruined" the whole screen. Most stuff isn't broken forever, it just needs a fix or some time to go back to normal.
