Tried the new Everett library app for a book club pick and it was a total fail
Our group wanted 'Lessons in Chemistry' and the app said 3 copies were free at the main branch on Hoyt Avenue. Got there and the shelf was empty, the librarian said their system hadn't updated since Tuesday. Now we're scrambling for a new book with our meeting in two days. Has anyone else had this happen with the library's digital stuff?

Call ahead next time, even if the app says it's in. The main branch number is on their site. I've had them hold a book at the desk after a glitch like that. For your meeting, maybe try the Libby app for an ebook copy if everyone's okay with that format.

Wait, so the app glitch is a regular thing then? How often does that actually happen at your library? I'd be pretty annoyed if I kept showing up for books that weren't really there. Did they ever explain why the system shows stuff as available when it's checked out or lost? Makes the whole hold system feel pointless.

Respectfully, I don't know about calling ahead. Every time I've tried that the person on the phone sounds annoyed and tells me to just use the app. Feels like you're damned either way.
