TIL a neighbor's story about the old Everett library
I was chatting with Mrs. Wilson, who's lived here since the 70s, and she mentioned how the original library on Hoyt was the only place with AC in the summer. It made me realize how much our shared spaces shape a town's memory. What's a local spot from Everett's past that you think we should remember?

My grandpa always talked about the old drive-in theater on Broadway, said it was the place to be on a Friday night.

Your grandpa was right, @the_kevin. That place was a mosquito-filled parking lot with a speaker that either blasted your eardrums or just hissed. The real magic was trying to see the screen from the back row.

Hold on now, I have to disagree. That hissing speaker and fighting off bugs was all part of the charm. It was an event, not just watching a movie. You were out under the stars with your friends or a date, making your own fun. The fuzzy picture and bad sound gave it character you just don't get in a sterile multiplex. I miss that kind of simple, messy night out.
