Better watch out for that new parking enforcement downtown

I was skeptical when folks said they'd gotten stricter on the 2 hour limits near the waterfront, but I got a $45 ticket last Tuesday after 2 hours and 10 minutes at the lot by the library. They're using license plate readers now, so moving your car a few spots over won't help. Has anyone else gotten hit with one of these lately?

Wait, did you actually see them using the plate reader or did the ticket just say that? I usually park at that lot on weekends and I've never had an issue going over by 15-20 minutes. Usually there's a guy in a vest who just walks around writing tickets the old fashioned way. Are they just doing this downtown or is it all the city lots now?

Wait, hold on - so they're actually using license plate readers now?? @olivia_harris19 I didn't see the reader myself but the ticket literally says "Automated License Plate Recognition" on it in bold letters. I had no idea they'd started doing that downtown. The guy in the vest must still be around for weekends or something, but weekdays that lot is a ghost town for enforcement now. It's crazy they'd spend that kind of money on cameras just to catch people going ten minutes over.
