Vent: My sister's smart fridge just locked her out of her own grocery list
She joked that it 'learned' her budget and started hiding expensive items, which felt helpful until she needed real cream for a recipe. Has anyone else had tech make a choice for them that crossed a line from helpful to controlling?

Oh man, that's the future I'm afraid of. My phone's autocorrect has already started judging my life choices (changing "takeout" to "salad" feels like a personal attack). A fridge with opinions on my spending is a step too far, like a kitchen appliance turned into a nagging parent.

Imagine a fridge that sends you passive aggressive notes about your cheese purchases. We're basically paying to have our own stuff judge us now. Soon my toaster will shame me for eating white bread.

Right? I totally get that feeling, and @oscar_ellis is spot on about it being like a nagging parent! It's helpful until it just decides for you.
