The feedback that made me rethink facial recognition on my phone

My nephew who works in cybersecurity told me I was being lazy by using face unlock on my phone. He pointed out that my bank app had asked for my face scan to authorize payments, and I never questioned where that data went. I changed to a PIN that night, and now I also turned off facial recognition for every app that uses it. It took about 30 minutes to set up, but I feel better knowing my face isn't stored on some server. Has anyone else had a family member push them to change a tech habit they thought was harmless?

Ngl that's a good point but here's something nobody talks about - what if someone just holds your phone up to your face while you're sleeping? A PIN at least requires you to be conscious.

Wow that's rough but he made a good point. Our faces are kinda irreplaceable.
