That moment my AI writing assistant plagiarized itself back to me

I was using an AI tool to help draft a privacy policy for my side project last Tuesday and it literally copied a paragraph from a different project I worked on 6 months ago. Spent 45 minutes checking against 3 different plagiarism checkers before I realized it was pulling from my own stored data. Has anyone else caught their AI regurgitating old work without telling you?

You are making a big deal out of nothing. The AI is literally designed to learn from your own work and reuse patterns that fit. If it copied your old paragraph, that means the tool was being consistent with your style and terms. Privacy policies are pretty boilerplate anyway. You probably saved 45 minutes by not having to rewrite the same standard stuff from scratch.

Yeah but @mark361's buddy proved that it's not just your style, it's word-for-word plagiarism.

My buddy Dave caught his AI pulling the same trick last month with a rental agreement template. He spent 20 minutes thinking his new project had some weird legal loophole until he realized it was just recycling his old lease wording from 2022.
