Overheard my nephew talk about his 'AI history tutor' and felt old

My 14 year old nephew was telling his friend about this AI tutor that helps him with history homework. It apparently generates custom study guides and quizzes based on his mistakes. He said he doesn't need to memorize dates anymore because the AI just reminds him. That got me thinking about how much we relied on actually remembering things when I was in school. Does anyone else worry kids are losing the ability to learn without AI holding their hand the whole time?

Doesn't need to memorize dates anymore because the AI just reminds him" wait what? That's wild to me, how the heck will he pass a test if the internet goes down?

Remembered back in school when my history teacher made us memorize every single battle date for the civil war, total nightmare. @ross.felix maybe some kids just learn differently without that pressure.

Oh wait @ross.felix how would he even write an essay without the AI?
