A guy at a coffee shop in Seattle told me he got a job because an AI hiring tool flagged his resume for 'leadership potential' based on his college rugby club. He said it was pure luck, and that's messed up.

My cousin got a finance job at Wells Fargo because he put chess club on his resume. He said they asked him about it for twenty minutes. Just say you did competitive strategy analysis or something. Sounds way better than chess club. Honestly half the stuff on resumes is just normal stuff with fancy names.

Actually chess club shows you can think ahead and plan, which is way better than just listing "team player". Frame it as strategic planning and problem solving.
