Took me 6 hours to fix a landing page CTA that was costing us leads
I spent all last Thursday testing why our demo request rate dropped, only to find a junior dev had swapped the button color to match the background. Our click-through fell by 20% over two months before I caught it. Anyone else ever miss something this obvious for way too long?

@anna_fox7 you make a good point about lead quality vs quantity, but I think the bigger issue is that a button matching the background isn't really a design choice. That's just a broken UI that confuses visitors. Six hours is rough but at least you found it before another two months went by.

Last year I had a similar thing with a contact form button that was the exact same gray as the background for three weeks.

Blame the junior dev all you want but that button color change was probably an improvement from a design standpoint. Maybe the original bright red button was too aggressive and people hated clicking it. You lost 20% click through but you might have gained better quality leads who actually wanted to be there instead of accidentally clicking some garish mess. Sometimes a drop in quantity means a jump in quality. The real issue is you didn't catch it sooner because you weren't watching your funnel closely enough.
