Warning: controller board fried on a 5 year old Otis lift last Thursday
Had a machine room fire drill go sideways on a Gen2 MRL, the brake resistor got cooked and took out the drive board, took me 4 hours to trace it back from a ghost fault code, anyone else seen a resistor fail like that on these?

Wait, you spent 4 hours hunting a ghost fault and it was just a brake resistor? That's like taking a road trip to find out you left the car running in the driveway.

Holy crap, a 5 year old lift fried its controller board from a fire drill? That's wild. I've seen resistor failures on Gen2 MRLs before but usually it's from years of dust buildup or someone jamming the brake release too hard. Four hours to trace a ghost fault code sounds brutal, I'd be pulling my hair out by hour two.

Four hours on a ghost fault? Sounds like someone forgot to check the main disconnect first. I've seen guys chase a phantom code for days only to find a loose fuse. Bet it was just a blown capacitor on the power supply, easy swap once you stop looking for something exotic.
