Took me three hours to find a bad terminal block on a 90s Otis controller

Honestly, I was troubleshooting this intermittent door fault on a Gen2 yesterday. The logs kept pointing to the door operator board, so I swapped it. Still faulting. Checked all the sensors and voltages, everything looked fine. Tbh, I was about to call for a second opinion when I finally noticed a tiny crack in the terminal block for the photocell wires. It was letting the connection drift just enough to fault. Ngl, I felt pretty silly for missing it. Anyone else get tripped up by something simple like a cracked connector lately?

That "tiny crack" is always the last place you look...

Yeah, that "last place you look" feeling is the worst. It's like your brain just refuses to see the obvious spot until you're totally frustrated. Solidarity on the search.

Tell me about it. I once spent an hour looking for my keys only to find them in the fridge next to the milk. My brain just goes on vacation when I'm looking for something. It's like my eyes won't even see the thing until I've given up all hope. Then it shows up right in the open, mocking me.
