That old controller swap in Nashville that ate my whole Saturday
Last month I took on a controller swap for a Mowrey in a 12 story office building downtown. I figured it would be a 4 hour job tops, but the new board kept throwing a phase reversal fault even though I triple checked the wiring. Turned out the old unit had a factory mislabel on the main line connector that I never would have caught without digging through a 1992 service manual. Took me from 8 AM to nearly 6 PM before I had it running smooth. Has anyone else run into miswired factory harnesses on vintage models?

That old 92 service manual probably had coffee stains on the misprint page too.

Actually that manual was notorious for having a misprint on page 47, not the coffee stains part. The diagram for the fuel system was upside down and backwards, which sent a few techs looking for parts that didn't exist. Alice might be mixing it up with the 94 edition that had the real coffee ring problem. Still though, funny how we all remember those old paper manuals better than the digital ones now. Anyone else have a favorite misprint story from those days?
