Tbh I miss the old controller rooms that had actual diagrams on the wall.
Went into a job at a building downtown yesterday and the whole setup was just digital schematics on a tablet, no laminated prints anywhere, and it took me twice as long to figure out the fault because I had to keep scrolling back and forth; anyone else hate this new trend?

My buddy at the 5th and Main plant still keeps a laminated riser diagram taped to the wall behind his tablet mount because he got sick of the same scrolling issue. I started taking a photo of the whole schematic with my phone before starting, then I can zoom in and out without losing my place. Works way better than the tablet app alone for tricky faults, you should try it.

Had a buddy who laminated his whole panel schedule after his phone died mid-troubleshoot, now swears by it.

Did he just laminate the panel schedule or the actual schematics too? I'm wondering if laminating slows you down when you need to jot notes on the fly during a fault.
