Just saw a service call sheet from 1982 and the numbers blew my mind
I was cleaning out the office at our shop and found a stack of old paperwork in a filing cabinet. One was a service call sheet from a building downtown, dated October 1982. The total labor charge for a full door operator rebuild was $127.50. Adjusted for inflation, that's over $400 today, but the parts list had a motor listed at $85. I guess I knew things were cheaper back then, but seeing the actual ticket made it real. What's the oldest piece of shop paperwork you've come across, and what surprised you about it?

Found a 1978 invoice, the parts cost was shockingly low.

Yeah that "shockingly low" part from @miles946 really makes you think.

Keep a copy of that invoice with your records. It helps a lot for insurance or if you ever sell the car.
