Found a weird trick for a sticky door operator on an old Dover
Had a call for a door that kept hanging up on close, just a tiny bit off track. The usual checks on rollers and track were clean. On a hunch, I put a tiny drop of dry graphite lube on the top of the guide shoe where it meets the header, not the track itself. The door smoothed right out and hasn't faulted in three days. My lead thought I was nuts, but it worked. Anyone else ever try something like that on a stubborn door?

Ever think the header itself is warped just enough to need that lube?

Graphite's a good band-aid, but it's just hiding the real problem. That guide shoe is probably worn or the header adjustment is off. You'll be back out there when the graphite dries up and turns to dust.
