That governor linkage is a real piece of mechanical art. The way it used flyweights and linkages to cut power was genius for its time. Makes you appreciate how simple and reliable those old systems were.

Saw one of those in Philly last year, the whole mechanism was just hypnotic to watch. Pure clockwork genius.
