After 15 years, I finally switched from a standard 3/8 drive ratchet to a low-profile head for tight spaces

Honestly, I was stubborn about my old ratchet for way too long. Last Tuesday, I was working on a motor brake adjustment in a 90s Otis unit where the clearance was maybe an inch. My regular ratchet just wouldn't fit, and I was about to start pulling parts to make room. A guy on the crew handed me his low-profile head ratchet, and I had the bolt backed off in two seconds. The difference is night and day for those cramped machine room jobs. What other small tools have saved you guys a ton of time on a standard service call?

You mentioning that 90s Otis unit takes me back. I once spent a whole hour trying to get a socket onto a bolt in a similar spot, swearing the whole time. My partner finally walks over, watches me struggle, and just says "magnetic pickup tool." I felt like a total genius... for all of five seconds before the shame set in. It was right there in my bag the whole time.

Oh man, @jade_singh, that magnetic pickup tool is a total lifesaver.

Wait, wait, wait. You had it in your bag the whole time? No way. I would have lost my mind if my partner just casually dropped that on me after an hour of cussing up a storm. That is some next level timing right there. I'm cracking up just imagining your face when you realized it was right there the whole time.
