A veteran tech in Atlanta showed me a trick with a zip tie and a hoistway door lock

We were stuck on a finicky interlock on a 90s Otis unit. He just looped a zip tie through the roller guide to hold the cam in place while we adjusted the bracket, said 'Sometimes the fix ain't in the manual.' Anyone have a different go-to for temporary door lock alignment?

Haha that coat hanger trick @umamartin mentioned is great, I've totally used a bent piece of safety wire for the same thing on a Dover.

Oh man, that reminds me of a buddy who had a stubborn door on a Montgomery. He ended up using a bent coat hanger to keep the latch from dropping while he shimmed the whole assembly. It looked ridiculous, just this wire hook holding everything, but it worked long enough to get the alignment right. I mean, you use what's in the truck sometimes.

Remember my cousin's old truck? He used a zip tie to hold the door shut for a whole week. Drove it to work like that.
