Swapped a $2 fuse for a customer and they asked for a $50 discount on the service call

Got a call about a dead microwave, found the internal fuse blown, replaced it in 5 minutes with a part I had in my pocket, and the guy tried to haggle me down from my $60 flat rate because "it was just a fuse" - anyone else have people argue your pricing based on the part cost?

That guy ever ask you for a discount on gas when it's only a few cents a mile?

My 30 years in business taught me that the part is really just the appetizer, the real meal is the knowledge of knowing which $2 fuse to swap and how to do it without electrocuting yourself. I once had a lady ask me to knock $40 off a service call because I fixed her dryer in less time than it took her to make coffee. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if they'd prefer I stand around scratching my head for an hour to make the price feel justified.
