A buddy of mine had a similar thing with an old TV. He spent a whole Saturday pulling his hair out, replaced every cable, tried different outlets. Finally poked around inside and saw one bulging capacitor looking back at him like a little pufferfish.

Honestly, that's the worst kind of troubleshooting - when it's something tiny and stupid after hours of work. Tbh, those little pufferfish caps have caught me off guard more times than I'd like to admit. Ngl, you've got my sympathy, that feeling of wasted time is brutal.
