I just learned the hard way not to trust a 'no power' diagnosis from a pawn shop
Bought a supposedly dead laptop for $40, thinking it was a simple power jack. Turns out the board had liquid damage and someone had already botched a repair attempt. I'm out the cash and the time. Anyone have a good source for reliable used parts boards?

Tell me about it. Grabbed a "for parts" tablet last month that was supposed to just have a cracked screen. Opened it up and found a completely corroded battery connector, someone had clearly spilled a whole drink on it. Total waste of twenty bucks. I've had decent luck with boards from eBay sellers with tons of positive feedback, but you gotta read the descriptions carefully.

My last "for parts" buy was a phone that smelled like old coffee. Took it apart and the whole inside was sticky. I should have known better when the guy at the flea market wouldn't make eye contact.
