Customer told me my solder joints looked like birds left droppings - actually helped

A guy who used to do aerospace repairs pointed at my board and said those exact words. Had me redo 12 joints with better heat control, and now my stuff actually holds up under load. Anybody else get a reality check from a random customer?

The spider with arthritis thing hits too close to home, mine looked like a geriatric fly had a stroke mid-solder. Definitely made me rethink my heat settings.

Nah @oscarw83, honestly I think too much heat is way better than not enough - at least you can clean up a cold joint but a bad joint from low heat just falls apart. Ever tried bumping your iron up 20 degrees to see if it actually makes a difference?

My solder joints looked like birds got stuck in a glue trap and gave up halfway through. A customer told me mine looked like a spider with arthritis tried to wire a toaster.
