Blew $250 on a so-called professional soldering station that lasted 2 weeks

Picked up a fancy digital soldering station from some online shop because the reviews looked solid and it promised precise temp control. By day 10 the display started flickering and then the tip stopped heating altogether, turns out the heating element was glued in with cheap epoxy. Anyone else get burned buying gear that looks pro but falls apart fast?

Ugh, that "turns out the heating element was glued in with cheap epoxy" part really gets me. I've had almost the exact same thing happen with a pricey hot air rework station that just fell apart after two weeks of light use. It's such a kick in the gut when you trust those fancy specs and the whole thing is held together with hot glue.
