Vent: A simple panel swap in a 1970s house turned into a 12 hour nightmare
Had to replace a 100 amp fuse box with a 200 amp breaker panel in a house from 1972. The old service entrance cable was aluminum, corroded, and undersized for the new panel. Had to pull a whole new mast and cable from the weatherhead down. Took three trips to the supply house for different connectors. What's the worst hidden problem you've found in an old service upgrade?

Ever think those old cloth-wrapped wires were fine? Found a whole section chewed to nothing by mice... changed my whole view.

Tell me about it. Saw the same thing in my attic last year. Those old wires are basically mouse candy.
