Unpopular opinion: Digital multimeters take the skill out of troubleshooting

Reading analog scales taught me more about circuits than any screen ever could.

Get this for sure. Analog meters were a pain but taught you everything. Digital feels like having the answers in the back of the book.

Totally get that. You had to actually understand the circuit. Now you just trust the number, which is kinda sad but also way faster.

Yeah, you really had to learn how the circuit worked to even guess the reading. Now with digital, you can miss a failing part because the number looks fine, even when the signal is totally ragged. It makes troubleshooting too clean sometimes.
