That moment my ladder kicked out on a Friday afternoon job

I was swapping out a faulty breaker in a panel at an old house over on Oak Avenue and my fiberglass ladder slipped on some wet concrete. I caught myself on the wall stud and only dropped my screwdriver, but it shook me up enough to double check everything. Anyone else have a close call that changed the way you set up ladders?

Dropped my whole tool pouch off a wobbling ladder last summer.

Oh man, that’s rough! I did the same thing once, but it was a full coffee mug that somehow landed right side up on a pile of sawdust. Spilled nothing, but I still had to climb down and fix a dented ego. Ladders and loose tools are like a prank show I never signed up for.

You ever try one of those magnetic tool pouches? I switched after my second ladder incident and it was a game changer. Still keep a backup strap around just in case though, nothing's perfect. Another thing that helped me was getting a ladder with those wide anti-slip steps, way less wobble even on uneven ground. Took me dropping a hammer on my own foot to finally get serious about it. Hope you and your tools didn't take too bad of a hit.
