Question about old wiring I found in a 1920s house

I was doing a rewire in an old bungalow in Portland and found knob and tube still live and spliced with modern NM cable. The homeowner had no idea. I mean, I knew it was out there, but seeing it actually in use was a shock. Has anyone else run into this recently and how did you handle the quote?

How do people sleep at night with that fire hazard in their walls? I found a similar mess last month and my quote basically had its own panic attack section. Good luck explaining that bill without giving the owner a heart attack.

Ugh, the "panic attack" line on a quote is way too real (been there).
